A dynamic basilica.
Shape: this is the essence.
Since the space designing, the typical frontal use of traditional mass show is overcome. The central octagonal floor plan is inspired by the Medieval baptisteries and the Apulian Fortress of Castel del Monte, our homeland iconic monument. It has been chosen for its uniqueness and for the millennial symbolism hidden behind the number “8”.
The architectural perimeter consisting of wooden modules outlines the ‘sacred’ space of the installation.
A concentric live performance.
The action is among us. Four musicians performing live in the middle of the basilica, among the audience, breaking down the visual barrier of the stage. This is a new kind of installation-concert, with a direct physical contact between the performance and the audience.
Organic performs a concept album made of progressive rock compositions, art rock songwriting, instrumental and vocal sections, electronic and psychedelic improvisations.
Sounds are spatialised by two sound source loop systems placed all around the band and all along the set perimeter.
The audience is placed between the two sound levels, surrounded by a three-dimensional soundscape.
A multivisual film.
Visions of visions. The audience will travel through history, losing itself in big slow motion digital frescoes. Likewise, the Medieval believer learned about biblical stories, terrible or edifying events of saints and prophets by observing basilicas’ mosaics and frescoes.
Bloodynose wraps the audience with a video-art work played on 8 led wall screens. They are like moving polyptychs staging powerful allegories and mysterious atmospheres, travelling through the historical journey of a man. The symbol of the spiritual and philosophical journey of the whole mankind.
The different narrative levels and the single shots run together on multiple screens, thus overcoming the cinematic concept of editing.
The audience is free to build its own movie depending on the position taken inside the basilica.
